EISELL AND WORMWOOD WINE

If Pepys' friends actually did *drink up* the two quarts of *wormwood wine* which he gave them, it must, as LORD BRAYBROOKE suggests, have been rendered more palatable than the *propoma* which was in use in Shakspeare's time.
