Jacobus Præfectus Siculus

I have a beautiful copy of a poem by this person, entitled *De Verbo DEI Cantica*. The binding expresses its date: "Neapoli, 1537." It is not, I believe, the work which suggested to Milton his greater songs, though it is a pretty complete outline of the *Paradise Lost* and *Regained*/ What is known about the author, or any other works of his?
