In reply to Query 1, I wish to call Mr. SANSOM'S attention to *Plutarch de Oraculorum defectu* (Lipsiæ, 1777, vol. vii. p. 632.), and to Webster's *Displaying of supposed Witchcraft* (chaps. vi. and viii.).
